SOUND FROM WORDS (Spoken words)

These two projects were assigned to me by Dr. Boulanger during my last term at Berklee College of Music. These projects were meant to challenge the way we use DSP plugins and softwares to design sounds using spoken words or designing around them. I truly learned and gained so much from Dr. Boulanger and his challenging but very rewarding projects.

The Glass essay - Sound for Poetry

I created this piece to showcase my ability to create a soundscape for a reading of a piece of literature. All the sounds you hear are created using DSP (digital signal processing) on my voice with foley recordings. Some main examples of DSP I used are cross synthesis and convolution reverb. An amazing DSP tool that was introduced to me: SoundMagic Spectral plugins by Michael Norris

The Coffee Project - Sound from spoken words

Anything and everything you hear in this piece is made from the spoken words "Nothing beats drinking joe with my bros... COFFEE!" (Regular Show quote). I wrote this piece to emulate the time I was extremely physically and emotionally addicted to caffeine. I used many DSP (digital signal processing) tools to spoken words into a variety of musical (and non musical) instruments, drones, and sounds to create this experimental piece. Some amazing DSP tools that were introduced to me from this project: Cecilia, PaulStretch (Audacity), Cabbage, CsoundQT
